- Fun to use
- Intuitive UI
- Can't create complex models
- Not practical for real world use
Ever designed something for 3D printing and wished you could get in for a closer look before finally sending it over to print? Well StroodleDoodle may be the game for you.
Virtual Reality 3D Modelling
It would probably be fair to describe StroodleDoodle as more of an app than a game, but there is still fun to be had regardless. It is essentially a 3D modelling program built for the HTC Vive, and allows you to not only see your 3D models from all angles in virtual space, but actually create those models as well. The controls are designed to be intuitive and easy to use, and the game has functionality to export directly to Sketchfab where they can then be 3D printed. Of course, the complexity that can be achieved with this modelling program is limited when compared to a high end program like 3D Studio Max, or even Blender... but none of those apps work in VR!
Great Fun, Not Especially Practical
StroodleDoodle does what it sets out to do very well. You get a fun environment and intuitive controls in which to build 3D models and the functionality to get them to your 3D printer. But don't expect to be using this game in any real production setting.
